Book Review | Malorie Blackman Noughts & Crosses Series

Through my recent giveaway, I asked you lovely lot to comment, stating what posts you would like to see. I took all of the comments & suggestions into consideration & decided to blog about some different things, opposed to just reviews of products, FOTD, nails reviews, etc.

Today, I will be reviewing books - a series, by a lady named Malorie Blackman.
When I met my other half, I came across his book collection, which included the first book to this series. I had no idea about the storyline, the background, heard of the author, nothing. I could have picked this book up blind, & started reading it. From then on, I have been addicted to the series, as well as purchasing other books by the author.
In this series, there is four books. Noughts & Crosses, Knife Edge, Checkmate & Double Cross.

Synopsis:
Sephy is a Cross - a member of the dark-skinned ruling class. Callum is a nought - a 'colourless' member of the underclass who were once slaves to the Crosses. The two have been friends since early childhood. But that's as far as it can go. Until the first steps are taken towards more social quality & a limited number of Noughts are allowed into Crosses schools.. Against a background of prejudice & distrust, intensely highlighted by a violent terrorist activity by Noughts, a romance builds between Sephy & Callum - a romance that is to lead both of them into terrible danger.. - Waterstones.

This is the basis behind the first book, which carries on throughout. I don't want to reveal any spoilers, so I won't go on. I will link below where you can purchase these, to read each synopsis yourself.
I am so happy I came across this series, well in fact the first book!
This series will take you through every emotion, shock you, grip you.
I have re-read these books, which I normally wouldn't do so. That must say something to you? If anything, I highly recommend you pick up the first book. If the blurb isn't to your taste, give it a try, or even borrow it from the Library & see how you get on. The books that are different to your preferences are probably the books that will surprise you!

You can find all the details to these books here (link).

Have you read Malorie Blackman's Noughts & Crosses Series or any other of her books?
What are your thoughts? Like to see more? I hope you enjoyed the different post!

  3. I read this series when I was around 12 and even though I'm 20 now I would still recommend them to anyone! It's such a good concept that I've not read by anyone else before, all this film talk about sodding 50 Shades of Grey - they should make a film of these!
